Hungary Holidays

With captivating culture, remarkable history and incredible architecture all in abundance, Hungary is one of Central Europe’s most fascinating destinations, making Hungary holidays popular among UK travellers.

Hungary’s unrivalled beauty can be adored from every corner, with quaint countryside towns and villages, 14th-century castles and huge glistening lakes, as well as the lively capital city of Budapest, holding some of the country’s grandest buildings amongst its cobbled streets. Plus, the marvellous cuisine served here means you can end every evening savouring one of the many divine local dishes, before treating yourself to a nightcap in one of Budapest’s ambient ruin bars. With the freedom to explore at your own pace, holidays to Hungary can be as relaxing as they are exciting.

Alternatively, enjoy exploring two cities in one break by combining your visit to Budapest with a getaway to another of Europe’s picturesque holiday destinations. A City Of Landmarks

Whichever one of our excellent packages you choose, you’ll have the flexibility to discover Budapest’s finest sights at your own leisure. Start by taking in the astonishing Gothic and Baroque architecture surrounding you, including Buda Castle and the Hungarian Parliament Building. There is certainly no shortage of beautiful buildings to feast your eyes on here; other prominent structures in Budapest include the Hungarian State Opera House, St. Stephen’s Basilica and the Budapest National Theatre, all of which make for spectacular viewing.

Over in the city’s Pest district, you will discover the iconic Heroes’ Square, which is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This bustling square is best recognised by the towering central column, which is topped by a statue of Archangel Gabriel. Just as significant are the colonnades, which sit either side of the statue, with each column representing one of Hungary’s most significant historical figures.

Unwind In The Thermal Baths

However many sights you decide to see, no holiday to Hungary is truly complete without a visit to the country's famed thermal baths. A hot spot for underground hot springs, there are plenty of spas and baths located across Hungary to pamper yourself in, while conversing with the friendly locals.

However, the country’s most famous baths are the Szechenyi Thermal Baths - the largest medicinal baths in all of Europe. The water is sourced from a pair of thermal springs, giving the baths a warm, inviting temperature. There are also a number of pools here, the most notable of which being the three outdoor pools sitting in the shadow of the baths’ spectacular main building. These lavish pools even feature chess boards, so you and your friends can have a friendly game while you enjoy a soak in the relaxing thermal waters.
