Overview

Bursting with beaches and painted as the ultimate backpacker’s dream, Thailand is a diverse hodgepodge of soul-stirring cities and sun-baked shorelines. Nestled in Southeast Asia, this slice of paradise is so much more than just a pretty face.

To give you an insight into Thai culture and history, this package deal includes eye-opening excursions to two of its major destinations: Bangkok and Siem Reap. And to top it all off, a beach break in Phuket with a free itinerary.

But before endless swimming, sunbathing and snorkelling can commence in Phuket, you’ll kick off with a three-night stay in Bangkok. Experience its opulent Grand Palace, enter the sacred Wat Phra Kaew Temple and marvel at the Emerald Buddha statue during a riveting full-day tour. Steeped in history, Bangkok is so much more than just a bustling city with bright lights.

Then, experience a more sombre part of Thailand’s history during a visit to the province of Kanchanaburi – home to the famous Burma Railway (also known as Death Railway), war museum and cemetery. You’ll also see the iconic bridge over the River Kwai, one of the most notable features of the railway line.

Next, head to Siem Reap, a resort town in the northwest and home to the ruins of Angkor – the Khmer kingdom’s seat from the 9th to the 15th centuries. Angkor is a must-see for anyone visiting Siem Reap; from Angkor Wat (the most famous of all the temples) to the Bayon Temple with its gargantuan smiling faces, explore every inch of these intriguing ruins during a full-day guided tour.

After spending a couple of days in Siem Reap, you’ll be whisked off to the rainforested island of Phuket for a blissful beach break. With sun-splashed shores, enchanting waters and palm-backed beaches – Phuket is the perfect place for switching off from the hustle and bustle of back home.

Whether you’re a keen swimmer, avid sun-bather or fancy trying your hand at something new (like diving or snorkelling) Phuket has something to please everyone. Explore offshore grottoes by sea canoe, witness mind-blowing marine life when diving in Racha Yai or plant yourself firmly on a sun lounger at one of the west coast’s beaches – marvelling at teal-coloured waters, interrupted every so often by humungous limestone karsts, sprouting out like daisies from the sea bed. You’ve earned it.
