Day 1 ARRIVAL / TRANSFER / COLOMBO
Arrive in Sri Lanka, Bandaranayke International Airport. There you will meet one of our representative and will be transfered to Colombo.
If time permits enjoy the Colombo Sightseeing Tour. The city skyline has dramatically changed during the last decade, trendy malls and cafes sit alongside old colonial architectural monuments and local eateries. The city tour will take you pass the Colombo harbor to the area known as the Fort, the islands administrative and main banking quarter adjoining the famous Dutch Hospital and the esplanade known as the Galle Face. The colorful religious edifices that adorn the different zones in the city reflect the countries multi-ethnic, religious and cultural diversity. The Cinnamon Gardens, the ‘chic’ residential section of Colombo with its numerous villas and mansions blends well with the recently restored Race- Course and Victoria Park. The Gangaramaya Temple with its collection of oriental antiquities and Buddhist manuscripts offers visitors a completely different turn-around from the rich and grand archaeological monuments of Sri Lanka.

Day 2 COLOMBO / DAMBULLA / SIGIRIYA
Following an early breakfast at hotel you will leave for Sigiriya. En route visit the Dambulla Rock Temple - Climb up to the temple, which was donated by king Walagambahu in the 1st century BC to Buddhist monks, Dambulla is a World Heritage site and is the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples. The complex of five caves with over 2000 sq. meters of painted walls and the ceiling is the largest area of paintings found in the world. These caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock spanning 14 meters.
Want to try something traditional and completely different? A delightful evening bullock cart ride is just the ticket, which will take you to some of the nicest places on the island. It’s pretty unconventional and definitely an adventure. Riding in the shade of the forests, you will see the country’s historic sites and some of the lovely scenery as well. What makes this ride exceptional is that you will visit a Sri Lankan village and enjoy a cookery demonstration and home-cooked meal from the local women and then top it off with a canoe ride across a beautiful lake! This tour will make your holiday that much more unforgettable!

Day 3 SIGIRIYA / MINNERIYA / SIGIRIYA
Enjoy a delicious and healthy breakfast. Later, proceed on a jeep safari to visit the Minneriya National Park. The park is famous for being the best place in Sri Lanka to get close to free-ranging elephants. Bordering the Minneriya tank and the Giritale tank, the 7,529 hectare park attracts hundreds of elephants during the dry season, as surrounding water source dries up. Watching them travel in herds of 10 to 20, it is impossible not to be impressed with the sheer bulk of a fully grown adult, but equally spectacular is seeing how they interact. There is also a host of water birds, both large and small, so keep your eyes open for delicately hued storks, slender and elegant grey herons, and great white pelicans.

Day 4 SIGIRIYA / MATALE / KANDY
After breakfast you will leave for Kandy. Just 25 km from the hill capital of Kandy, the Matale spice gardens are among the best on the island. Here you will be introduced to different types of spices Sri Lanka is famous for and and will also be shown how some of these spices are grown and processed. Visitors may buy spices, traditional remedies and cosmetics, taste a herbal brew and in some venues. In Matale, you will also enjoy the full flavors of Sri Lankan spices over lunch or an Ayurveda massage based on natural products from the garden. Evening at leisure.
DINNER & OVERNIGHT IN KANDY
Day 5 KANDY
After breakfast, proceed on a sightseeing tour of Kandy - which was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, and is a World Heritage Site. The name Kandy conjures visions of splendor and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Drive around the Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhala King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798. Visit the Kandy town and Bazaar, the arts & crafts centre and a gem museum and a lapidary. In the evening visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and thereafter witness a cultural show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dancing.

Day 6 KANDY/NUWARA ELIYA
After breakfast, proceed to the Kandy Train Station to board the Train leaving for Nanu Oya – It is an unforgettable train ride to Nuwara Eliya. Sit back in the comfort from where you can catch jaw-dropping views as the train powers up through the tea plantations, into the clouds and then weaves in and out of the many mountain tunnels. The railway in Sri Lanka was first introduced by the British Colonial government in 1864, to transport tea from places like Nuwara Eliya to the capital, Colombo. Nuwara Eliya which is at an elevation of 1890 meters above the sea level is the highest city in Sri Lanka and it lies beneath the tallest peak of the island. Nuwara Eliya (City of Lights) is a resort city blessed with salubrious climate, breathtaking views of valleys, meadows, mountains and greenery. Nuwara Eliya, also known as ‘Little’ England’, was the favorite hill station of the British who tried to create the resort into a typical English Village.

Day 7 NUWARA ELIYA/KALUTARA
After breakfast proceed on a sight seeing tour of Nuwara Eliya. Drive through the Little England and then leave for Kalutara via Kithulgala.

After enjoying your breakfast this day will again be at leisure. You may spend your day relaxing or can visit some of the main attractions of Kalutara such as the Gangatilaka Viharaya, the Kalutara Bodiya, Richmond Castle, the Asokaramaya Buddhist Temple and Calido Beach.
OVERNIGHT IN KALUTARA
Day 10 KALUTARA-COLOMBO-UK
After breakfast, check out from the hotel. It is time to head home via transfer to the international airport to connect with the departure flight.
