South Africa with Kruger and Victoria Falls
From its fabulously lush national parks to its world-famous vineyards around Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, South Africa is a destination in a league of its own. Home to a whopping seven World Heritage Sites and one-of-a-kind flora and fauna, South Africa harbours plenty of must-sees and thrill-seeking activities.Mingle with terrifying Great White Sharks in Gansbaai, attend the distinctively South African social gathering known as the “braai” or gaze at the gentle giants of the ocean at Hermanus.
Begin your tour of Southern Africa with the magnificent Victoria Falls. Stand in awe as you witness and hear the roar of stunning Victoria Falls, the world’s largest falls and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
After Victoria Falls, drop in to Johannesburg, the largest city in the country and probably the world’s largest man-made urban forest with around 6 million trees wedged amongst iron-clad, bulbous skyscrapers. Tours around the Jo’burg metropolis and visit the Gold Reef City amusement park before setting off for the captivating Kruger National Park, one of Africa’s largest game reserves.
Covering an area of 7,523 square miles, Kruger promises plenty of animal eye-candy and photo opportunities. Venturing down to the southern part of the park will place you directly in “Big Five” territory. (And if you’re unfamiliar with that term, the “Big Five” refers la crème de la crème of African flora and fauna, including lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffaloes.)
Next, we’ll make our way to Cape Town, perched on the Western Cape Province and replete with sprawling plazas and burgeoning nightlife. Named “the best place in the world to visit” in 2014 by The New York Times and The Daily Telegraph, Cape Town plays host to the 36-hectare Kirsten Bosch National Botanical Garden (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the colourful Bo-Kaap neighbourhood or “Malay Quarter”.
But perhaps its most iconic feature, one which is plastered over postcards far and wide, is the glorious Table Mountain which you’ll scale via cable car during one of our breath-taking tours. You’ll also visit scenic Robben Island off the coast of Cape Town and chock-full of perky African penguins frolicking about in the water – a real treat to see!
A 12 night stay jam-packed with excursions and luxury 4* hotel stays!
Spell-binding wildlife parks, waterfalls, beaches and mountains make this trip one to remember!
