At Citrus Holidays we are giving you the chance to visit not one, not two, but FOUR of Latin America’s world-class destinations: Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil. So, if gazing up at several of the New Wonders of the World, discovering the history of the Inca Empire and sinking your toes into gorgeous, golden sand sounds like it might float your boat, then you’ve come to the right place.

Your tour will kick-start in Cusco, a city in the southeast of Peru. As well as being a World Heritage Site, Cusco was also the historical capital of the Inca Empire from the 13th to the 16th century, meaning that meandering through its vibrant streets is often akin to walking the echoing halls of a museum. Traipse Regocijo Square, an Inca treasure, and elbow your way through the crowds and vendors at San Pedro Market, a haven of typical regional products and enthusiastic traders, who will see you haggle and spout a chorus of “gracias” and “cuantocuesta”s, finally putting that high school Spanish to good use. Then, gaze at the marvelous Quirikancha, the main Inca temple dedicated to Inti, the sun god, an impressive display of ancient architecture that’ll give you a glimpse into the lives of a civilization from ancient times. And the adventure doesn’t stop there...

Next, you’ll step foot in Lima, Peru’s metropolitan capital with a window to the Pacific. The beginning of your tour will see you wander around the city’s most exclusive shopping centre, Larcomar, only then to swap its cosmopolitan commercial vibe for an eye-opening visit to the pre Inca pyramid of Pucllana. You’ll stroll through Lima’s historical downtown district (a World Heritage Site), while away the hours in the Plaza Mayor and sink your teeth into the delectable cuisine, including award winning chocolate and coffee, of one of Latin America’s gastronomical capitals. And of course, a trip to Peru wouldn’t be complete without journeying to Machu Picchu. This magnificent Inca citadel whose picture is often plastered across postcards and travel guides as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, will leave you spellbound and reaching for that selfie stick like no tomorrow.

After venturing deep into the heart and history of Peru, you’ll make your way to Santiago, the capital of Chile, whose landscape provides an often sought-after blend of snow capped mountains and the pearly white shores of the Pacific Ocean. Spend half the day taking to the slopes and the other half soaking up the sun on a beach towel. The choices are endless! With visits to important cultural landmarks and sites such as the Cerro Santa Lucia urban park and the bustling Plaza de Armas square, you’ll find it hard not to fall in love with the Chilean lifestyle from day one. To ensure you experience Santiago to the fullest, you’ll divide your time between the lush greenery of parks such as the Forestal and the urban city districts, like the bohemian neighborhood of Barrio Bella Vista which offers bars, restaurants and an atmosphere to rival all others.

This whirlwind tour continues in Buenos Aires, Argentina’s capital, a twinkling paradise of more than 280 theatres, green spaces and captivating neighborhoods. Breathe in the air of the 1810 revolution in the Plaza de Mayo, a historical and political hub in the centre of the city, and gawp at the Presidential Palace and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Avenida de Mayo’s sensational architecture and greenery will leave you mesmerized and the San Telmo neighborhood with its tanguerias and bars will have you boogieing on down till the early hours. Grab a bite from the dinky cantina restaurants which litter the La Boca area and marvel at its adorable multi color houses which date back to the 19th century. Last, but not least, find yourself staring at the largest waterfalls system in world, Iguazu Falls, and its gushing foam and spectacular scenery.

Your final stop on the tour will be the glittering city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil’s capital, known for its wild carnival and balneario beaches stretched out along 80 km of coastline with a back drop of high-end hotels. With his arms stretched out proudly and perched on top of Corcovado Mountain, the impressive statue dubbed Christ the Redeemer will extend a warm welcome to you. Then, a trip to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain consisting of two cable car rides to the summit will provide impossibly beautiful views as the sun casts a deep shade of amber over the city as it sets. In Rio you can take your pick of the splendid beaches which lie in wait, but make sure you saunter along the lengthy promenade of the famous Copacabana with its plethora of clubs, bars and restaurants.
