The mosque, established by Pasha Yakovali Hassan was built in the second half of the 16th century. This is the only Turkish age mosque in Hungary that has remained intact together with its minaret.Inside there is a exhibition of objects donated by the Turkish government.
Its furnishings are entirely in line with religious docrine, so it is regularly used by the Muslims living in Pécs.
